Living Design Capacity Builder
For organizations, including those developing grant-funded work.
LIVING DESIGN CAPACITY BUILDER
Capacity is infrastructure.
Big visions require more than funding.
The people and networks carrying them need the relationships, knowledge flows, coordination, leadership, adaptive capacity, and ability to mobilize multiple forms of capital required to bring them to life.
Living Design Capacity Builder helps mission-driven organizations, initiatives, communities, and networks cultivate the capacities and conditions they need to accomplish what they're here to do.
We work with aligned grant-funded and mission-driven initiatives as a 501(c)(3) capacity-building partner.

With our Seeding Change team
Capacity changes what becomes possible.
Potential is rarely limited to money.
It may already be present in your:
people · relationships · knowledge · place · capabilities · networks · materials · waste streams · timing · opportunities
Living Design helps us see the system differently—revealing overlooked resources, latent potential, new relationships, and pathways that weren't visible before.
Then we cultivate the conditions that allow that potential to grow.
How we can work together
Capacity Builder engagements can begin almost anywhere.

Workshops + Strategy Labs

Living Design Labs

Nature of Place

Multicapital

Seeding Change
Stay with the work long enough to help new capacities, relationships, and ways of working take root.
Capacity for changing conditions
Organizations rarely need capacity in the abstract.
They need it because something is changing.
A leadership transition.
Rapid growth.
Restructuring.
A new initiative.
A funding shift.
Technology change.
Climate impacts.
A partnership or network that isn't working as well as it could.
A consequential vision that exceeds the organization's current capacity to deliver it.
Living Design asks:
What is trying to grow?
What capacities would make that possible?
What potential is already present?
What is getting in the way?
What conditions would allow the system to flourish?
Capacity-building partnerships
Some challenges aren't solved in a workshop.
They require time for new relationships, capabilities, knowledge flows, leadership patterns, and ways of working to develop.
Through Living Design Capacity Builder, BILD can join aligned initiatives as a capacity-building partner—helping assess what's needed, build capability, activate overlooked resources, and cultivate the conditions for meaningful work to take root.
This can include strategy, facilitation, training, Living Design Labs, retreats, place-based work, Multicapital mapping, documentation, research, Fellows, and ongoing Seeding Change support.
We can stay and help grow the conditions for change to take root.
BILD + TEEMLab
Living Design Capacity Builder has two pathways.
TEEMLab is the commercial organizational practice—working with companies, organizations, leadership teams, innovation teams, networks, and initiatives.
BILD is the nonprofit capacity-building partner for aligned mission-driven, grant-funded, community, and place-based work.
The underlying question is the same:
What does your organization need to be capable of to bring its vision to life?
Let's explore what's possible.
